My Mountains

Bridal Veil Falls - about 30 miles downhill south past the Mescalero Apache Reservation.
This doesn't do it justice, of course.

Sierra Blanca from the mesa, above.

The same Sierra Blanca, last week, from further south, and MUCH closer.

The trail head at Cedar Creek - this summer.

Eagle Creek - also this summer

Go here for some more great photos.
And come visit one day.

Hello Kate,

I love the pictures you posted. Whenever I think of the birds - I like the term the "Winged Ones."

Speaking of wings, I finally picked up some Dove chocolates. While shopping I put in a poinsetta plant in my cart, but part of me didn't want too because I was on a food mission for the snowy weather that was coming in. The mind was arguing with the process. After I got home I had to dive into the Dove and the message was, "Buy Yourself Some Flowers." :-) Whew - glad I listened.

Your photography is wonderful.

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos; this place is really beautiful.

I like your Dove experience, too.

Mine didn't go so well with the 3rd one. I waited several days, then chose one: got some dorky message I can't even remember now.

(but the chocolate was great!)

thanks for stopping by. :)

You know, Kate, my Spanish friends all laugh at me when I say "My sierra" and "My storks" and "my beatiful city". Must be an English thing---POSSESSION!

Either way, ok, you have nice mountains, but you know what I love most and ENVYYYYYYY about New Mexico? Your light. God, I have just never seen light like that, skies that BLUE, except maybe really far South in Spain, Sevilla and Cadiz way.

Hahaha, on my first trip a good friend talked me out of spontaneously buying a business in Taos..He had to remind me I am at heart a water girl---as in large body of....
I am very happy to have you back to visit every day!

That was Joel's very first comment when she got here, too. The light is truly spectacular.

Maybe I'll see the skies in Spain someday. (I did, briefly in 1986, but only near Barcelona.)

Thanks for stopping by...:)
